Quilt Prep

What size should my backing be?

Backing should be 4" extra ON ALL SIDES. For example, if you have a quilt top that is 60" x 80", your backing should measure at least 68" x 88". It can always be bigger, but not smaller. Extra fees may apply if I need to put extra time and effort into getting your quilt ready to load.

If you have questions, please ask.

I'm passionate about being able to give you results you will love. Teamwork! :)

TIDY IT UP!

Please press your top and backing for me so that it's nice and tidy and ready for me to load. Seams should be pressed as flat as possible. Please also clip stray threads or raveling fabrics as best as you can. You might not be able to get them all, but to prevent dark threads from shadowing through your quilt top, please don't skip this important step!

Quilt Top or Bottom?

If your quilt or backing is directional, please indicate the top of the quilt. You might think it is obvious to you, but lets not leave anything up for wrong interpretation =). You can mark it with a safety pin and/or note.

If you have pieced your backing, please know that I can't guarantee that the quilt will be perfectly centered on the backing, although I will do my best!

Batting

I offer a variety of batting options for purchase or you can provide your own batting. Please make sure the batting is at least 6" larger than your quilt top or 3" larger on all sides.
