I made this quilt for a good friend and neighbor who was moving to Arizona. I loved the southwest feel and the rich colors made me so happy. The pattern was Palm Springs by Laundry Basket Quilts using their linnen texture fabric collection. I custom quilted this one with rulerwork on the light and free-motion wishbones on the colors.

This quilt was such a quick sew! I used the Jessica's Twinkle pantograph when longarming to echo the stars in the blue coordinating fabric and I love the way it turned out.

I fell in love with the roadrunners and burrowing owls of this Charley Harper fabric from The Desert Collection. The roadruners remind me of growing up in Texas and as a wildlife biologist I have been an many early morning and evening burrowing owl surveys. I have to say they are even cuter in person. Finishing it off with the cuddle fabric makes it perfect for couch snuggles.

I have an obsession with Elizabeth Hartman quilt patterns and I couldn't wait to get my hands on this quilt top for longarming. It was so fun to create all the texture in each animal face. It was all done with freehand and ruler work. The elephant and rhino nose wrinkles always make me smile. I made this to commemorate a trip of a lifetime to Tanzania with my husband

I used the Spectacular Savannah quilt pattern from Elizabeth Hartman with kona cotton, essex yarn dyed/homespun, and various Robert Kaufman Adventure fabrics. I used a dark gray thread on the majority of the quilt and then matched thread to each section of each animal.
